About
I'm not a dealership, a comparison site, or a faceless agency. I'm one person who knows cars inside out — and I work exclusively for you.
My story
I've spent years in and around the automotive world — buying, selling, advising, and watching people make expensive mistakes that were entirely avoidable. A friend who bought a car with undisclosed finance. A colleague who paid over the odds because they didn't know how to negotiate. A family member who drove away in a car with a hidden MOT advisory that turned into a £1,400 repair bill six weeks later.
The problem isn't that people are naive — it's that buying a car is genuinely complicated, and the information asymmetry between buyer and seller is enormous. Dealers do this every day. Most buyers do it once every few years.
I started The Vehicle Consultant to level that playing field. To be the knowledgeable friend that most people don't have — someone who can look at a listing, run the checks, make the calls, and tell you honestly whether it's a good buy or a car to walk away from.
I've been buying, selling, and advising on New and Used cars for over a decade. I know how dealers operate, what the checks actually reveal, and what questions to ask that sellers don't want to answer.
I'm paid a flat fee by you. I have no commission arrangement with any dealer, no referral fees, and no incentive to push you towards any particular car or seller.
I don't run a call centre. When you hire me, you get my full attention. I'm available throughout the process and I don't disappear once the fee is paid.
If a car isn't right for you, I'll tell you — even if it means more work for me. My reputation depends on giving honest advice, not on closing deals.
